About Ian
I live near Winchester and started writing my first book in 2021 after spending a year thinking about it. Full time employment for a large banking organisation tends to get in the way!
The idea for my first chapter, in my first book, came from a dream! Jake Stone was then born in my mind, and the dream committed to paper. I wanted to make him a different type of private investigator. He's not in a dark place, or having problems with alcohol or drugs, but tragedy has created a turning point in his life, and his experiences in 'Don't You Want Me?' made that turn even sharper.
It's true that some of me is channelled in Jake! I'm a keen Chelsea FC supporter, have a love of maps - and travel is something I get a lot of pleasure from.
I'm lucky enough to have a wide group of diverse friends and family. They are a constant source of inspiration for my characters.
Jake Stone's next case is already in the planning stage.

'Don't You Want Me?' is a brilliant read. Wonderfully well-written plot and story that had me engaged from the start and wanting to read more.
Loved the fleshed-out characters and found them truly believable. Couple this with the great suspense and vivid locations the novel is set in, what’s not to enjoy?
